Hello all and Happy New Year!!! As a February’s Perfect Wedding magazine is on sale now, it’s also a perfect time to blog my favourite images from Hazel and Ben’s wedding – featured on the glossy pages of the issue! First of all, just looking at it fills my heart with happiness. Such wonderful couple and such wonderful wedding. Enjoy the highlights and few words that Ben and Hazel shared for the magazine feature.

And here is what is that about this wonderful wedding in the feature:

Modern metallics for a contemporary romance

“The light-filled breakfast room at the venue, The Kings Arms in Christchurch, Dorset, was a beautiful, neutral space to style for our wedding. I wanted a romantic, minimal look with vintage details and metallic accents, complementing the look with white hydrangeas, soft pink roses and gypsophila.”

“I chose pretty Bardot-style pink dresses for my bridesmaids to tie in with our colour scheme. I’d imagined wearing a similar 1950s-style dress in white, but all the structured satin dresses I tried on felt too plain when compared to Maggie Sottero style I ended up choosing! And I loved the keyhole back, lace bodice and tulle skirt – it was a perfect combination of simple and elegant with beautiful details that were not too dramatic.”

“I was a nervous wreck and shy when everyone look at me”

“I felt really calm when we were getting ready, but that all changed as I was about to walk down the aisle. And I was a nervous wreck and felt really shy because everyone was looking at me. All I wanted to do was to walk quickly towards Ben and hold his hand. I’m lucky my mother and my mother-in-law walked down the aisle to stop me sprinting!”

“As soon as I reached the altar, my nerves disappeared and I loved our ceremony. Most of all it was amazing to be marrying my best friend in front of all our favourite people!”

“My best friend found some inexpensive geometric lampshades. Our florist dressed them with flowers and they also hung down from the ceiling over every table for a modern, romantic look.”

As a graphic designer, I wanted to DIY everything for our wedding day, but I tried not to get carried away! I made our gold foiled wedding stationery, favour bags and place cards, and also created our chalk board world map table plan.”
